What is Hyperhidrosis?
Hyperhidrosis is a disorder characterized by excessive sweating. It usually occurs on the hands (palmar hyperhidrosis, or sweating of hands), feet (plantar hyperhidrosis, sweating feet) and in the armpits (axillary hyperhidrosis, underarm sweat), which may manifest itself on the face and scalp (craniofacial Hyperhidrosis , scalp sweating).
Although the exact cause or mechanism by which this occurs is not known, in some individuals the profuse sweating on the hands, feet, armpits or face becomes uncontrollable, which is accompanied by facial blushing and a feeling of embarrassment that often is followed by a strong anxiety to escape the situation that brought it on. This episode is characteristic of a condition called "Social Phobia".
In "The Sweat Clinic" we have the ultimate solution to excessive sweating.
